Mr Maple began his guide dog training the day he was born at Guide Dogs for the Blind in Northern California. At 10 weeks old he was placed with a volunteer Puppy Raising family in Salt Lake City. They provided him with basic skills and obedience, including learning not to eat off the floor (he was also VERY loved). At age 2 he began formal harness training at the GDB Oregon campus, and 6 months later I met him for the first time! After 2 weeks of working together, Mr Maple and I graduated as a team.
