For the past 2 months I’ve been told baby will come earlier than his due date and I was given hope but my last check up proved everyone wrong as my cervix is still not even 2 cm and I have not lost my plug yet or had any labor signs at all. He’s here🥹🩵 What a rollercoaster of a journey.. it may not be the birth I had wished for but all that matters is that we are both happy and healthy♥️ Contractions came on thick and strong in the evening of the 13th and progressed all through the morning!! I really wanted a v-bac birth as the emergency c-section I experienced with Aria was pretty traumatic.. but things never really work out how you plan (especially when it comes to birth🤰🏽) The pain was unbearable especially when baby boy decided to turn back to back when I was 6cm dilated. I opted for the epidural which worked like magic✨ The baby then decided to do a poo, they weren’t to concerned at first as my waters were just lightly coloured once they burst. I managed to fully dilate all the way to 10cm when they baby’s poo changed colour to a darker tar. It was time to push.. to try and get him out as quick as possible. We were rushed to theatre to pull him out with forceps, but I was told he wasn’t ready and I wouldn’t physically be able to deliver him so we had to have a ceserean section! I spent what felt like hours totally numb in the operation theatre, tugging and pulling, it knowing if my baby was going to be okay.. thankfully he was a healthy 6lb4 baby with no complications. At just like that at 11.24am he was born 🩵 I’m just soo thankful to the NHS for looking after us soo well and thankful that we are all okay x #birth #birthstory #pregnancydiary

We lost almost all of the labor footage due an SD card error on our GoPro 😭😭😭 We are so sad by losing almost everything. Michael and I will share more details of her birth + more videos as a long form video later. Her birth story: that morning, I started having very sporadic contractions (painful when they came, but not regular) and, because I have prodromal labor for weeks, I didn’t think much of it and continued my day, but Michael knew it was starting the real deal. I had a work project to submit and knocked out the editing and submitted it. By 7:30 pm, they finally became consistent at 9 min apart, but lasting a full minute and a half, and by 7:45, I called the midwife (just to ensure she was here in time) though I was still of the belief they’d fizzle out. Michael knew it was real. By 8pm, they were 6-7 min apart and very strong. And just before 8:30, they were 5-6 min apart and still lasting over a minute. When my midwife arrived, I was almost 9cm, which shocked me considering contractions weren’t closer than 5 min apart. She was born at 9:44 pm at 7lbs 10oz and 20” long, our second smallest baby, but perfectly healthy! I snuggled in to the bed with her for a few minutes before looking myself to see she was our SECOND GIRL. Honestly, still so shocking to me to have another girl. It always fascinates me when a baby is sitting high past 41 weeks! For this mumma, all of her babies had done this, however, this little one settled nice and low IMMEDIATELY following the session which tells me they were really really working on it!
