Our sweet girl has a name ♥️ naming 8 children is a gift and challenge all at the same time and girl names have been harder for us. Within seconds of me holding her at birth, the name Mikiah came to Michael. Neither of us had heard it before so it obviously wasn't on our list. It means "one who speaks the truth". We took some time to see if that was the name for her and then some more time to decide on her middle name Grace Raelle. You've asked so here it is: the method I've used to train all 7 kids (6 boys 1 girl) right at the age of 2 between 1 and 5 days pending the kid. Drop any more questions in the comments! Save for future reference. Some things I've learned: Yes, boys can also be trained right at 2! Two of my boys caught on the very first day like Mila. Ideally, we'd stay home a full 2-3 days, but with older kids, we just stay home as much as possible. I make a BIG DEAL over moving to underwear. I get some I know they'll love based on personality. We just do a t-shirt and undies so they get the feeling of wet in their underwear when they go! Pick up some fav fun drinks (juices, lemonade, anything they'll gulp even more than water) and high fiber foods so they get lots of practice! We cheer a lot and do a fun treat (a fruit snack, an animal cracker, etc) even if they only half make it in those first few days and when they don't, I say "oh no, you got your undies wet". Don't be discouraged! Lots of accidents helps with learning quickly, consistency is KEY! We lost almost all of the labor footage due an SD card error on our GoPro 😭😭😭 We are so sad by losing almost everything. Michael and I will share more details of her birth + more videos as a long form video later. Her birth story: that morning, I started having very sporadic contractions (painful when they came, but not regular) and, because I have prodromal labor for weeks, I didn’t think much of it and continued my day, but Michael knew it was starting the real deal. I had a work project to submit and knocked out the editing and submitted it. By 7:30 pm, they finally became consistent at 9 min apart, but lasting a full minute and a half, and by 7:45, I called the midwife (just to ensure she was here in time) though I was still of the belief they’d fizzle out. Michael knew it was real. By 8pm, they were 6-7 min apart and very strong. And just before 8:30, they were 5-6 min apart and still lasting over a minute. When my midwife arrived, I was almost 9cm, which shocked me considering contractions weren’t closer than 5 min apart. She was born at 9:44 pm at 7lbs 10oz and 20” long, our second smallest baby, but perfectly healthy! I snuggled in to the bed with her for a few minutes before looking myself to see she was our SECOND GIRL. Honestly, still so shocking to me to have another girl.
