Outdoor Kitchen❤️ Yes to this audio! Having an idea and bringing it to life even though no one has done it before! Don’t let anyone tell you-you can’t do it! It doesn’t have to be anything huge and to be honest when I drew this out on a bit of scrap paper, I hoped it would look like this but we didn’t know -we did it anyway! I’m so pleased we took the plunge to do it. Danny’s eyes always roll when I get an idea but does he ever regret it once it’s done-I can proudly say he doesn’t! The start of our garden transformation! And one that we love and are so pleased we did! I’ve popped all the actual prices and pics at the time when we bought them as people always think we were lying with how much it cost😂. We did both during covid and I’m not going to lie it was a hard slog! But me and Danny arent afraid to put the hours in 😂. We’d never done anything like it before but 3 yrs on it’s still going strong and looking great. I know it will cost more now as materials have gone up in price but I’ve included the exact materials used so you can cost it up if you want to try something similar. It will still save you a lot of money though❤️ The garden before was very much in a cottage style and I wanted my outside to reflect the inside -and with all that glass -a continuation of our home ❤️ Honestly, we are so happy with how it turned out and I’m really happy to see lots of you have been inspired and done it too or something similar. I like to share each year (sorry for my old followers😂) but for my new followers you won’t have seen this and it made such a huge impact on the rest of the garden-it started it all! Grass Hack! Morning! Each year when I start showing my garden (around this time😂) people ask if my grass is Faux. It’s not and I use this! (not an ad just something I use and like and get asked about) I actually bought the autumn winter one and forgot to put it on 😂 so I’ve popped this on my grass this week and it’s looking a bit like the before photos at the moment but I promise you in a few weeks time it will be looking a lot healthier and in a month or so it will be looking a lot more luscious and thick. Don’t know where to start? This is what we did! And literally went from there. This was our starting point and then I designed the rest of the garden around it. The core part-the colours, is what I used to create a flow from the inside to outside. The anthracite colours of my windows, island and furniture and my nordic finished light floors and furniture of the inside I replicated on my fencing borders and furniture. I used the finish also on my diy outdoor kitchen. Then I started on my corner shed which is now the pergola area and then the rest! Don’t let anyone else effect what you want to do or who you want to be! ❤️ Over the past few years I have really come to realise who I am, what I love and what I want in my life, who I want in my life and what I don’t need in my life. Ive learnt to try as best as I can to protect my energy. That might just have come with age or the fact I’ve had some pretty big things I’ve had to deal with recently (which I haven’t shared on here) which has really made me look into myself and figure a lot of things out. Also social media is not for the light hearted -I focus on the positives, and all the lovely things that come with it but there are a lot of negatives too-bitchiness, horrid comments, people judging you when they don’t know you. But to be honest it’s helped with positivity in all aspects of my life because of that. It’s trained my mind to try and always look for the good, it’s not always easy! I definitely have bad days believe me! but I really try to be positive in myself and with what I share with you. With that in mind, I wanted to share how important it is to be true to yourself! Wear what you want to wear, be with who you want to be with, it’s ok to sit and chill, it’s ok to do diy, don’t feel guilty for taking time out for you, do what feels right for you and to hell with what anyone else thinks! ⁣PROGRESS - We’ve been working hard in the Rose Garden. ⠀ This has taken quite a while to do, but on the warmWe’ve still got a bit of work getting the edges straight etc, but the big heavy work is now done. ⠀ ⠀ On the old photo of the same garden there are a few differences; it looks like they had some stone / gravel paths with brick edging. At the moment we are getting the grass in between the flower beds. But we would look to change this in the future. We also can’t quite get the position of the outer boarders exactly the same as in the old photo as we now have curved walls around the one side of the rose garden so we have tried to get the new beds to work with the shape of the walls whilst remaining symmetrical and similar to the original design. ⠀ ⠀ I have also added two tall metal structures which I found last year in the veg garden and I thought they might look quite nice with some roses growing around them. ⠀ ⠀ We’ve got more plants arriving in the next few weeks so we can get these boarders filled. Then it will really come to to life. ⠀ ⠀ Ps: have you spotted me in last photo sitting where the previous owner was in the photo from the 1800’s on the window ledge. I’ve had so many messages about these recently-i thought I’d do a tik tok ❤️ When we made the borders and fencing I tried to keep as many of the shrubs and plants as possible but I also knew I wanted something taller-that could be used to help keep the garden private and evergreen. When I saw these in my local garden centre @den_taylor_dtail I took the stock he had 😂 they were around £150 each at the time but that was 4 yrs ago (he’s told me since he’s has hundreds of phone calls 😂about them but they have gone up-I got mine during covid) They are ELEANGUS EBBINGEI and they have been fantastic! They are easy to maintain and look great all year round. They’ve grown a lot bigger and fuller but we won’t let them get any larger now we will keep them that size. I did add a few other new plants and flowers but I’ll leave that for another time.
