TW ABLEISM ⚠️ When this podcast surfaced I was extremely shocked and speechless! These m̶e̶n̶ boys deserve to be called out on this disgusting ableism! Instead of thinking ‘will I date a disabled person’ THINK ‘WILL A DISABLED PERSON DATE ME’… For starters, calling a disabled woman ‘mangled’ is appalling in itself, especially when said with such confidence from a creator with a large platform. I’ve met and worked with one of these creators before… now to think that they MAY HAVE associated that experience as “grim” is really upsetting and disappointing 😞 The fact they thought this was okay to post to their massive audiences 😭💔 It just adds to the problem! Seeing my new wheelchair for the first time… Such a happy day 🥹🥰 I know I’ve already posted so much about getting my new wheelchair but it’s such a massive moment for me, it deserves to be documented on here 🙈🥰 A few years ago an OT made me lose hope when he said not to bother trying a manual wheelchair as my hand is too bent and I’ll never be able to use it… well, this week I proved him wrong!!! I’ve got big plans coming, which will involve me needing to really work on my strength and stamina and I can’t wait to announce it soon but purchasing this chair is going to open so many doors for me and I can’t wait to continue living my life to the fullest! My face when I stood up 🤣🤣 Feeling very empowered after an amazing 2 days at @Naidex ! So thankful to be surrounded by such an amazing, uplifting community. I listened to some incredible speakers (I wish I could’ve split myself in 3 as there were so many that I wish I had time to catch) also a big thank you to everyone who came to listen to me! My first solo talk on stage since I was doing an assembly to primary school children over 6 years ago! My arms are regretting the climbing wall now but I’m so glad I got to experience this again!
