Neptune Update! We rescued Neptune a couple of weeks ago. At the time, he was suffering from a large umbilical hernia. We went out to rescue him, thinking it was going to be difficult as we were told he was feral 😅. That information ended up being completely false. He is one of the most loving cats ever. After his rescue, Neptune had emergency surgery to correct the hernia. He did great during surgery and recovered quickly. Neptune officially went to his forever home on Saturday, and we couldn't be happier for him ❤️ Thank you to everyone for donating to his surgery and care and to his new Mom for giving him the happily ever after he deserves ❤️ #kitten #catrescue #cats #kittens

Introducing Romeo ❤️ This little sweetheart is one of the wall babies. The 4 little sweethearts all had goopy eyes and upper respiratory infections when we rescued them, but Romeo had it the worst. Mom started to reject him, leaving him alone to sleep and no longer feeding him. We stepped in and took him in as our little bottle baby. Since being separated, he has started to thrive. His little eyes are getting better, and he is starting to grow. He will be reunited with his siblings once they are weaned ❤️ In the meantime, this little dude is extremely grateful for all the love and care. We have never seen such a tiny kitten be so affectionate. He gives kisses and little head bonks every chance that he gets ❤️ We had named all the wall babies after different kinds of oranges but have affectionately changed his name to Romeo. We will keep everyone updated on this loving little man, as he continues to grow, thrive, and get ready for adoption. **Please consider becoming a monthly donor so that we can continue to save the most at risk cats and kittens. Without your support this type of love wouldn't be possible**

Nyx Update! After rushing Nyx to the vet this morning, it was found that he not only had a severed leg but also an injury to his thorax and head trauma. He also had a very high fever and was lethargic. He was given pain medications and antibiotics to try and lower his fever and alleviate some of the pain he was experiencing. After a few hours of the pain medication taking effect, he was able to stand up and wanted to eat ❤️ He will be staying at the hospital tonight and getting his amputation surgery tomorrow. While he is sedated for surgery, he will be getting some additional x-rays to make sure he doesn't have any other broken bones. We are hopeful everything will go smoothly tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has donated to Nyx ❤️❤️ WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!! Without you, rescues like his wouldn't be possible. We will have an update after his surgery tomorrow. Please send lots of positive thoughts for our beautiful boy.

We didn't expect to wake up to a medical emergency this morning. One of our friends and colony caretakers was out doing her morning rounds when she came across an extremely injured kitten. This poor baby has their front left leg completely severed, and the leg is hanging on by only the skin and flesh. The bone and ligaments are completely severed. There was substantial bleeding, and the kittens' pupils were different sizes, which could indicate that they also have head trauma. We have named the kitten Nyx. We do not know their gender yet. We rushed Nyx to the vet, and they are currently receiving medical care. We know Nyx is going to, at a minimum, need their leg amputated. We are hopeful their aren't any internal injuries and that Nyx can survive. This is the worst injury we have ever seen a cat sustain and still be alive. Special thank you to our Vet for taking in Nyx and always accommodating our urgent rescue cats ❤️ Please consider donating to Nyx medical bills and care by visiting the link in ou bio @catsofsanbernardino. Without your support, rescues like Nyx wouldn't be possible.

Remember when these beautiful kittens were dumped on the side of a busy street by this monster? She threw them out like trash and then proceeded to almost run them over. Luckily, this heartless act was caught on camera, and a good Samaritan was about to scoop them up. We were able to take in the kittens that same day. We got them medical treatment, they went to our newest foster Kristin ❤️, and we got them ready for adoption. Huey, Dewey, and Louie all found their wonderful forever families. Now they will know what real love is. Thank you to everyone involved in helping these beautiful kittens. From the people who spotted them to our foster, to our donors, and our amazing adopters. These kittens now have the happily ever after that they deserve. #kitten #kittens #adoptdontshop

Goodnight from Odyssey 🌙 The only new update for our big boy is that he is getting better at taking his medicine ❤️ It's been 12 days of treatment so far. Apparently, we won't see much in the way of physical improvement for a couple of months. Please send Ody some positive vibes. Stay tuned for updates ❤️ #cat #kitten

We have some of our beautiful kids at the vet today. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are in getting their Spay surgeries 🤗 These 3 beautiful girls have all been preadopted and will be going home soon ❤️ Atlas is in for a biopsy and suture removal 🤞🏻 Romeo is in for a checkup he's better than when we took over for mom, but he's getting a little pale and has rapid breathing. We are pretty worried about our little man. Sometimes, moms can sense things that are wrong that we can't physically see. Hoping there isn't anything too wrong with my little man. We have a new rescue kitty at the vet today as well. You will get to see his rescue later today. Please consider donating or becoming a monthly donor to help us continue to save many more lives! New Rescue Alert 🚨 We received an overwhelming amount of requests to help a cat that was spotted yesterday. He was wandering around with his face extremely swollen, making it hard for him to both see and breathe. We recognized the person asking for help was also one of the people who originally spotted Harvey. We knew this kitty was local and in need of immediate help. His rescue was relatively easy. Although he wasn't food motivated (because he can't smell and doesn't feel good), he was trusting. We were able to scruff him easily and get him safely back home with us. We have named this sweet boy Odyssey. Odyssey is currently at the vet. He is getting some diagnostic testing and medications prescribed. We believe he most likely has a fungal infection and are hopeful it hasn't spread neurologically. We need help with Odysseys' medical bills. We also have Atlas, Romero and three other kittens at the vet and medical bills are piling up FAST! Please consider donating by visiting the link in our bio @catsofsanbernardino We will keep everyone updated on his progress.

Neptune Update! Neptune had a successful surgery. He was able to have his Hernia completely corrected and is home recovering. Little man had A LOT of love and energy. It was been a difficult task trying to make him have bed rest and keep his cone on. He will be back at the vet next week for his suture removal. Thank you to everyone who donated to his surgery and care ❤️

Nyx Update! Our little fighter did really well during his amputation surgery yesterday and he is now home with us. He had his left front leg fully amputated, and a large wound on his left thorax closed up. We had initially thought he had most likely been attacked by a dog or coyote, but his wounds lacked puncture holes. We honestly don't know what caused his injuries or how he managed to survive. He's a little miracle. We know a lot of people were asking about the different pupil dilations. That is a result of head trauma (concussion). The pupils should normalize over time as he recovers. He has some really good pain medications and is clearly feeling more relaxed. We will now be focusing on his healing and recovery. Thank you to everyone who donated towards his surgery 🙏 Without you, rescues like Nyx wouldn't be possible and for that we are forever grateful ❤️ #kitten
