Eight beagles were saved today! Our friends at Craven County took in 50 dogs from a puppy mill situation and reached out to us, desperate for help with the beagles. Our foster families stepped up, made room in their homes, and today we welcomed eight new beagles into the rescue: four puppy mill beagles, two additional beagles who were brought to Craven County the same day as the puppy mill dogs, and two dogs from Edgecombe County—one with a large hernia that needs medical attention. Meet Buster, Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup (the puppy mill dogs), Byrd, Brody, Bud, and Butterfly. All of the dogs need to be fully vetted. Butterfly needs her hernia repaired, and sadly, all of the Craven County dogs are heartworm positive and will need to undergo treatment.
