This energy guarantees your unconscious mind closed off to you and doesn’t share the info you’re looking for. It’s like a flower that closes up. Self-understanding asks what? and operates with accepting, warm, kind, and curious energy. This energy opens the flower of your unconscious giving you access to a treasure trove of info. So, instead of self intellectualizing and judging yourself, ask what? questions: * who’s the version of me who craves attention? * What kind of attention do they want? * What do they hope happens if they get that attention? 💡Most important part In your process of self-understanding you may find that maybe this is simply who you are, and there may be an opportunity to accept this about yourself without thinking that this pattern indicates something is wrong with you. If that's the case, and you're just someone who really likes attention, your task is to be honest with yourself and others about that, tell the truth about who you are, and create relationships that hold space for that truth (and the truth of who the other person is). Not only do you know that the squad has your back if a threat emerges, you also have 149 people near you to act as an alarm if a threat emerges Imagine how deeply you'd sleep cozied up with people you know and love deeply. People whose well-being you deeply care for, and know the same is returned to you. Now imagine being alone in the forest. It wouldn't make sense to fall asleep deeply. You'd have to remain anxiously alert. 😴 If you struggle with sleep, and struggle with a sense of belonging, it might be helpful to start meditating on belonging as you fall asleep. What would that 150 tribe feel like? What would your nervous system be doing as you doze off in that setting? This makes change nearly impossible. 💡Self compassion lets your nervous system know you’re in a safe environment. This allows you to relax, and fully digest and integrate new information. Now, for many, self-compassion feels nearly impossible. And if that’s you, it’s not about forcing yourself to be kind to you. The first step might be by cultivating compassion and sincere curiosity for/towards the parts of you who think you’re not supposed to be compassionate toward yourself. 👉🏼Who’s that version of you who struggles to engage in self compassion? What are they like? What’s their body language like? How old are they? 👉🏼What do they fear happens if you are compassionate toward yourself? When did they learn that? What do they get as a result of denying you compassion (what are the benefits)? Be as sincerely open-minded with your inquiry. We’re not looking for what your thinking mind already knows and thinks are the RIGHT answers.
