Male TaeKwonDo Black Belt Severely Injuries Female Yellow Belt During Sparing When a senior martial artist spars a junior martial artists, the goal is for the senior to teach the junior. If a black belt is sparing a yellow belt, the black belt should spar like a yellow belt plus. That is, the goal is to teach, not to beat. The level of sparing should be just above that of the junior so that the junior is forced to grow but not so much above the junior's skill level that the junior is overwhelmed to the point of not learning. A black belt should also have control over the speed, power, and range of their techniques. The black belt in this video clearly lacked control and thus should not be a black belt. Further, the teacher of this TaeKwonDo school should be ashamed that he or she allows loose cannons to hold a black belt and especially because they allow them to spar with people so junior. I hope the young lady who had her nose broken does not give up on martial arts training. I hope she heals well and then finds a proper teacher. A teacher that will also teach her how to defend herself correctly. Speaking of correctly, the black belt student in the video has not been taught how to fight correctly.
