According to the contractor, they said they told me that they saw this mistake even before starting the footings but I approved it. But the problem was, they did not show me any drawing or Request for Approval (RFA) document showing this discrepancy. And all of my plans have general notes on them which means that the contractor should notify the architect of all discrepancies between the drawing and the site before proceeding with work. Verbal was not enough! I am thankful for my client who was on my side the whole time and did not think that it was my mistake.
