Where to put my third leg on marathon day? 👀 Both @liamcavanaghfitness and @joshuapatterson_jp are running by my side for London Marathon (thank god) 🙌🏼 It makes me feel a lot happier knowing I have such a strong support team!! The reason I need the third leg is because incase I need to walk, I have to swap from my running leg to my walking leg!! Hence it needs to be carried around with us. It’s too risky if I leave it with someone watching… if I need it and they can’t find me, not ideal! This really made me tickle but we did actually trial this on a run after we filmed this video! I’ll edit and upload the vlog for it this week 💖 Do you think this is a good idea for marathon day?!? 🤣🤣

How the prosthetic leg was made… Can we all take a moment for the QUEEN that is @Bex 💖👑 Not only did she make my leg but she filmed it for all of us (from various angles too) 🤯 everyone go drop this beautiful soul a follow as she shares her life as a prosthetist technician 🤝 We also cannot forget my OG @Natalie Heaton who has been my prosthetist since the very start of my amputee life !!! I’m honestly so lucky and grateful to have the most amazing family over at @dorset_ortho @siliconebydorset who are making my dreams come true ❤️ I count my lucky stars that I have such great relationships with them because I know how hard this is to come by!!!! BT dubs, this is step uno of the life-like leg process. Second step was me designing it (as you’ve seen) then it’s the silicone / life-like leg being made. Finishing off the process will be me trying it on for the first time - 16th April !!! Stay tuned!!!

I wanted to be honest with you all and where I’m at… Ad | also for those wondering, hair food is from @Garnier. Doing this with my hair has really helped it become healthy. It started getting v thin recently and I’ve tried lots of different products to look after my hair! I recommend🙌🏼🤝 The product can be used as (1) a hair mask (2) conditioner (3) leave in conditioner. I do all three! If you want more advice on everything I have done and trialed to help my hair grow, let me know in the comments! Where do I start… If you haven’t seen this episode clip, it is a podcast episode in which people are joking about this topic. I want to preface this by saying, I flipping hate cancel culture. This podcast is centred around purposefully saying stupid things. I don’t believe they meant to cause harm nor do I think they are horrible people. Instead of cancelling them, there’s a lesson to be had here… The statement ‘would you stay with someone/me if…’ needs to stop. It is often thrown around as a fun game but it is always at someone else’s expense. I’ve met many disabled people who struggle to feel confident and OK with their disability. For a very long time, having a disability has been viewed as shameful and something to hide. If someone feels that way and then come across this clip, it can be so damaging. Yet, to someone else, it’s seen as a joke and a bit of fun. It’s not funny and never will be. “87% of disabled people who have experienced negative attitudes said it negative effects their daily lives” (Scope, UK 2022) Many of us disabled creators work hard on breaking down these stereotypes and actually, there isn’t much awareness around this podcast clip except amongst the disabled creators. If this was about race or ethnicity, this would be going crazy on socials. That is why I feel a duty to share this and would appreciate if you could do the same. To still hear people talking like this shows we’ve still got a long way to go. Awareness is key. If people become are aware of the unconscious ableism used, that is when change can start. Disabled people deserve to be loved. We are not mangled and should never be looked down on. When I became disabled, I was so worried I’d be viewed in this way and that nobody would fancy me. I flipped this negative thought on its head and realised my disability was a great filter and would keep all the mean people away from me. Any person that viewed me in this way would never get a chance with me as I’d never want to be with someone who thought like that. To my disabled family - you deserve to be loved, you will find someone who loves you for you and you are beautiful as you are ❤️ don’t forget that To able-bodied people, please think before you speak and try work through any potential unconscious ableism you may have ❤️

It was a surreal feeling and it’s crazy because… I went to this hospital within my first week post accident and I was pretty out of it!! I do remember being wheeled through on my hospital bed and thinking it looked like a shopping mall. I was then in a side room, had little context of where I was and went through a lot in that time 😅 I have so many memories of this place which I won’t go into now - let me know if you’d want to hear more about my hospital experiences!! Mental though that I am now just running through 🤯🤯 If you’re struggling right now, please remember that things always get better 🫶🏼 take each day as it comes, don’t give up and you will get there!!! It’s been a WEEK and I still cannot walk, this is why!!!! But once I’m back on my feet, I need to trial so many new products to help my amputated leg and three toe-d foot. If anyone has (1) good running trainer recommendations (2) products to help rubbing on foot (3) sweat protection for amputated leg, please comment these below. All I know is… 1.⁠ ⁠I’ll be looking sexyyyyy on marathon day with my @Oakley sunnies 🫶 they activate beast mode and level up my training so I’m bound to smash the marathon with them on, right?! 2.⁠ ⁠Marathon day is all about having fun and I will never be able to run my first marathon again. 3.⁠ ⁠On the day, I’m going to try my best to enjoy the whole experience, despite inevitably being in pain. I want to take it all in and will constantly remind myself why I’m doing it. Leg BOTOX update… It’s been two weeks since I had 100 Botox injections in my leg!!! For context - if you’re new here, hello 👋🏼 I got 100 Botox injections in my leg because I’m running the London Marathon, my leg gets really sweaty and makes my blade want to slip off. I heard Botox helps with sweat so I thought I’d give it a go… As you can see, my leg is still getting very sweaty so I don’t think the Botox worked. I was told there may be a chance I need to go back and get more. However, as the first 100 didn’t work, I don’t fancy going to get 100 more injections when it may not work again. The clinic I went to was the best of the best so if they can’t make it work for me, I’m not convinced anyone can. I’ve been told by other amputees that they just firm the sweat and nothing crazy bad can happen. It’s just not the best to deal with as it feels like your leg wants to fall off. Since I’ve changed my leg liner and it’s position on my leg, it’s helped my blade not want to slip off as much. Although it still gets really sweaty. At least I can say I tried everything and did my best ❤️ btw, this is also not to say that it won’t work for other amputees!
