A little marathon training interlude… I’m obviously joking when I say I don’t miss my leg or foot. It’s just that I’ve come to terms with the loss and there’s absolutely nothing I can do about losing my limb. However, there is something I can do about being able to wear various heels 💡🧏🏽♀️ It’s weird to see the photos of me with two legs 😅 I also realised I don’t actually have that many pictures which is a shame. When I looked at these photos though, I did have a reflective moment 😅 RIP 🖤 Thing is, I did actually have to mourn losing my leg. It took me a few months to not cry when I looked back at old photos. I think it was important to do that so I could mourn. However it got to a point where I stopped myself because I asked myself ‘is this helping me or harming me?’. It was indeed the latter. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this high heel journey with me 🥹 I’ll probably post more about it on TikTok so make sure you’re following me over there 🙌🏼 #amputee #amputeegirl #highheel #heels #prostheticleg #fashion #disabled #disability #Fitness #reflect #mourn #mourning #trauma #processemotions #processing
How I celebrated six years since my accident ✨ Last year I had a very emotional day and I think that’s because it was ‘five years’ so it felt pivotal. I wanted to be happy this year so I filled my day with fun things! Every year however, I like to feel safe, spend it with loved ones, be present and acknowledge the day. I usually light a candle too 💓 I had such a lovely day this year so I hope you enjoy watching it! #amputee #accidentday #trauma #traumatic #electrocution #electrocuted #sixyearsagotoday #overcome #resilience #celebration #celebrate #happiness #happy #Love #present #candle #pivotal #gardencentre #Vlog
Here is how my first 5K run went… Wait for the end to see my time 🫶🏼 the time really doesn’t matter though because it’s the fact I actually completed it which is immense! I’m just shocked at what time I did it in considering it’s the first time I’ve ever tried to do it 🤯 what a great starting point for the marathon!! I’m so unbelievably excited for this journey and I’m so grateful to have you all by my side as I do it 💓 thank you for your support always!!! A huge thank you to @londonmarathon also for seeing my previous videos about wanting to do one and helping me make it happen 😁🙌🏼 Make sure to follow along my journey on here, TikTok and Strava ☺️ #amputee #bladerunner #Running #prostheticleg #runner #runna #5k #5km #5krun #5krunning #adapt #resilience #overcome #trackandfield #runningmotivation #marathon #londonmarathon #Fitness #health
ad | At least my main character moment at the end made the run worthwhile🤣 I can’t wait for my knee pain to go! I have a feeling this will be a recurring issue though throughout my entire training🥲 The fact I have been walking incorrectly for SIX years and I have to relearn how to walk properly doesn’t help 😅 but we move…I’ve got this 💪🏼 Good job I’m drinking the protein shake because ya gal needs a lot of protein to recover her bod rn 😅 If you also want to give main character energy, the @Ninja Kitchen UK @Ninja Kitchen Blast Portable Blender is available in denim blue, black on website or additional colours to join in 2024. 🫶🏼 the perfect Xmas present tbf for a fitness lover 🎅🏼🎄 Shop here - https://rb.gy/izd3kc #lifeonfullblastUK #NinjaBlast
I’ve also recently been told about attaching a strap to my amputated leg and holding onto that for support too. I’m going to try that next and show you how I get on 💓 AD | @JD Women #meinjd #amputee #Fitness #amputeegirl #amputeefitness #gym #gymgirl #disability #disabled #adapt #adaptiveathlete #adaptandovercome #legextension #quadgrowth #fitnessgirl
Being an amputee and a a complete novice runner taking on the London Marathon in 2024, I knew I wanted to bring together people just like me. I think run clubs can be quite intimidating. You need to feel like you’re a ‘runner’ to go so it puts you off. I wanted to create a run club which is the opposite. Everyone is welcome, feels comfortable, meets likeminded people and most of all, has FUN 💥 ‘Pickles Paces’ is for you if you want to run slow at a conversational pace, you’re a beginner, you want to get into running or if you want to meet some new pals. I will also provide routes which are accessible for wheelchairs and let you all know which events these are. If you have a disability which means you need extra help, please do let me know in advance and I will try to organise this for you. I want it to be as inclusive as possible and will do my best to make it so🙌🏼 Although some say running is accessible to everyone, for me, it's a personal luxury made possible by my running blade. It’s important for me to have both disabled and able bodied people at my run club. Pickles Paces' is more than just a run club; it's a celebration of movement. Details: 🤝🏽To become part of this club, there's no requirement to be a seasoned 'runner.' Our sessions will vary in distance, but rest assured, 10K will be our maximum. 📆 Every Sunday at 10 am, mark your calendars! 📍 Location will vary so stay in the loop by joining the 'Pickles Paces' Instagram broadcasts channel or Strava group 🔜 NEXT UP: Sunday 3rd December - 10am - 3K distance - Regents Park - meeting point will be shared in broadcast channel Ps. Do things that scare you. I was slightly nervous before but once I arrived, I was all good. Creating your own run club is scary. However I fought past that fear, did it anyway and ended up having a GREAT time. I got to move my body and meet lots of new people 🫶🏼 what’s not to love?!? Don’t let you fears get in the way of you doing what you truly want in life.
