11 months without my mom tomorrow ❤️‍🩹 Losing a parent feels like being homesick, but never being able to go home ever again. Losing a parent, especially at a young age, is something I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Some moments you feel like they're going to come back, but then it hits you that they literally never will. Some moments you feel like you can still call them to talk about anything like you always have because they were your safe space, no matter what they were going through, they'd always listen, then you realize their phone number doesn't exist anymore and you feel sick. Every month I get closer to the 12 month mark without my mom hurts a little bit different and a little bit more in some ways because this reality sets in more. I wrote this to remind myself even though it does still hurt, I do have more moments in my days than in the beginning where I smile or allow life to distract me from the constant despair. 10 months without my mom. I could feel my heart slowly sinking all week and tonight the sadness crashed over me. It still doesn’t feel real. I just want my mom.
