I’ve done pet portraits for over 10 years now. My first paintings were usually only 3 x 3 inches and super cheap, but I sold a ton of them and got loads of practice. I ended up switching to oil shortly before the circle canvas era. This made a huge difference and I enjoyed spending more time on the process. This is the first time I’ve looked back at everything together. It’s honestly shocking to me. I’m so grateful that all along the way were kind, generous people who valued my work enough to support what I do. I have yet to have a mean or rude client. While I don’t do a ton of custom work anymore, the skills I’ve picked up from commissions has enabled me to create things that I never knew I could. I don’t know if I could ever quit doing them entirely, as they offer unique challenges that you can’t get any other way. Right now, I’m easing my way back into doing custom work after a long, difficult year. I can’t wait to share those pieces with you in the coming weeks! #petportrait #catart #artcommission #creativegrowth #oilpainting
