i am risking my life to post this but i need my siblings to understand that they are just as muslim as anyone else because they too have completed umrah with me #queermuslims #transmuslim #lgbtq #mecca #umrah #islam #masjidalharam #kaba
please do not attack me for wearing hijab as they literally would not let me in without it. even if you believe im not a “real woman” i have every islamic right to enter womens spaces. google the sources i mentioned as well as how verse 24:31 “male attendants without desire” of the quran was applied to the mukhannathun (effeminate men/trans/ gender non conforming ppl) of madinah. many conservative revisionists will try to dismiss this history by mislabeling these people as intersex. early scholars went to great lengths to seperate the mukhannath (effeminate man with female brain) from the khuntha mushkil (intersex person with ambiguous genitalia). please do not let them confuse you, do your own research. “And the Male Is Not like the Female: Sunni Islam and Gender Nonconformity” is an article by Muslim Matters (a islamic education website founded by prominent modern scholars such as yasir qadhi) that explains the difference with unarguable islamic sources. the article has transphobic undertones but it proves that the mukhannathun were NOT intersex, they were assigned male at birth but were still allowed in women’s spaces the saudi embassy in pakistan released this statement on trans pilgrims in 2017: “It does not matter whether or not the applicant is a transgender, but the passports that is presented must mention the gender as either male or female” my passport says female in response to the question “Are LGBT visitors welcome to visit Saudi Arabia?” the offical government website says “Everyone is welcome to visit Saudi Arabia and visitors are not asked to disclose such personal details” so according to the law of the land it was obliged upon me to hide my trans identity in their country. something that would not be possible if i wore male dressing because ive been transitioning since i was a child, posses all the biological visble s/x characteristics of a female & have had gender affirmation surgery. the intention of this post is to encourage trans muslims to pray, not to cause controversy or promote any agenda. Allah swt knows best. #transmuslim #queermuslims #islam #masjidnabawi #salah
