“How Much We Spent On Getting Our Rental Property Backyard Ready So That We Can Park Our RV For Free” 1. Cut down trees in the backyard - $6,500 2. Install electric, water and sewer connections - $9,240 3. Level the backyard and pour gravel - $3,200 4. Build an 8ft fence to stop nosy neighbors from peeking in our backyard. - $2,431.35 5. Build a storage shed to put our belongings that don’t fit in our RV - $1,730.92 Total cost to park our RV in our backyard = $23,102.27 The real cost of parking our RV on OUR land = PRICELESS 🥰🥰🥰 A few things: - Installing electric, water and sewer should have been about $6K. Unfortunately we started off with a very shady contractor. Once I figured that out, I found people to do each of the things individually instead and it was much better and MUCH cheaper that way. - The first week we were here, our neighbor called the city on us like 3 times in a week for NO reason. My husband suggested a 6ft fence and I insisted on an 8ft so we went with 8ft. I would have even done 12ft if I could. I can’t stand nosy neighbors who like drama for no reason. - All the numbers above include labor and materials. Minus the shed, the labor was $0. Thanks to Hubs for putting that together 😘. I’m excited that we can park our RV in the back of our property, stay for free and also make an income from it by renting the front part of the property which is the actual house. Win for us 🙌🏾! This was always our plan all along, and we are so excited to slowly see it fall into place! 🙏🏾 Yes we will still travel full time, we only plan to stay here occasionally as needed. 🌎 We actually have an international trip coming up and I can’t wait! Fam, we did a thing !! 🎊 🎉 We bought a “house” !! 🏡 It feels surreal but oh, it’s very real lol. Nope, we don’t plan to live in it, I don’t fancy big spaces or want to be responsible for taking care of big spaces lol. So we’ll fix it up and rent it out. Thankfully there’s space in the back to park our RV. POV: You enroll your 10-year-old in surf lessons in Dakar, Senegal 🇸🇳 His smile at the end 🥹😍❤️!!! This is just from Day 1. His first day of lessons! Our rental is 4 minutes from the beach, so of course A’s gonna surf daily! Love the proximity to the beach from almost anywhere around Dakar. One thing I always do when we travel is make sure to find activities around that A can participate in. Once we find a destination, and especially when we stay for a bit, I do lots of research prior to pick the right place to stay and right activities. One time activities are fine, but it’s also nice to focus on a specific activity and get proficient at it at least! A loves the beach, so this is perfect for him! Also it’s important for me to raise a well rounded child! PS, surfing is hard. I tried it once and couldn’t walk for days. My thighs were burning 😂😂😂. Whew!!! I give it up to him FRFR! He’s been spending his mornings surfing @copacabanasurfvillage . The owner is a local and really awesome! Surf lessons cost 15,000 CFA = $25 USD! And the surf instructor, such a handsome young man and really great with A too!! 🥰 🏄🏾‍♂️ Have your kids surfed before? Do they enjoy it? At what age did they become proficient? We saw a 9 year old proficient enough and surfing by himself much further in the back of the ocean and I was so impressed! Great motivation for A too. Y’all I am so excited because QUEENS narrated by Angela Bassett premiered, on March 4th on @National Geographic TV and streams today March 5th on @Disney+ and @hulu. When I watched the premier of this documentary in Tanzania I was blown away. I didn’t realize the role that these animals queens play in the jungle! Especially the lionesses 🦁. As a woman and mother, I could relate so much. It’s crazy to see how similar animals are to us. I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you this is my absolute favorite Nat Geo series ever! You’ll have to watch it to see what I mean. Especially to the Moms out there. Even if you don’t like animals, just watch and see what I mean. And when you do, come back let’s talk about it.
