4 years ago I let go of what I knew and started DIYing….. I found myself learning To use tools that scared me Perseverance Passion Finish carpentry Framing Home Design Tile Drywall 👎🏻 Furniture building (and for much less than retail) Creating a haven for my family To be relentless and believe in myself And in the process of finding myself, you found my page. We’ve had our ups and our downs, trials and errors but also success. Through sickness and health (don’t worry, this isn’t a marriage proposal but you’re welcome to stay and eat 🍰), I’ve been able to continue to grow and show you how to start making your house a home. A mother of 3 spirited young girls, married 12 years to the love of my life, my intern and site supervisor, Mylo🐶, and previously a photographer and graphic design for 11 years before focusing on my family, I now get the chance to do what I patiently love and get to teach that along the way. We live in high socks, leggings, and baggy shirts here, so come comfortable! I don’t have all the money in the world for extravagant projects but I will share both budget friendly and larger scale projects, to inspire you to know what you can do small things that make big impacts within your home. 🏡 I was able to increase our homes value by almost double and we sold it in 36 hours! Now, I have to opportunity to start fresh, building a new home and a new life for my family in the next few months. My doors are always open and I’d love to have you here for the journey. Let’s do this together 🛠️ #diyhome #showushowyoudiy #thishouseisyourhouse #homesweethome
Have I ever tried creeping tile? No. Have I ever used musselbound? No… have I ever seen anyone use musselbound in the way I did? absolutely not and I doubted it would even work! If I was doing the entire wall, I would have put the adhesive on the entire wall but because I was making a shape and didn’t know exactly where i was going to place the tile, I figured it was easier making them into a “sticker” tile and it worked! This is what I love most about home projects! Testing the waters and seeing what works and what doesn’t. I learn best by trying! #creepingtile #tile #diyhomeprojects #powderroommakeover
Whoever said dark paint in small spaces doesn’t work has never tried! I transformed my friend’s powder room using @sherwinwilliams Emerald® Interior Acrylic Latex paint in Olympic Range SW 7750 in a satin finish, along with some trim work. Using the right paint and material can truly make a space feel more inviting and cozy without making a space feel smaller. #ad #SWcolorLove #powderroommakeover #smallspaces
Growing up, my mom did the best she could showing us the ropes. I remember having a walnut cracker that we used to loosen bolts and a junk drawer full of random screw drivers and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m not sure where I got my drive but I am so thankful for those who taught me what they could with what we had. Today, I get to create and build the coolest things! So if you were like me and you’re learning from scratch, let’s be friends! #ikeahack #diyinspiration #homediyprojects #doityourselfproject #womenwhobuild
Let's build a closet for my almost 10 year old! Although space is limited in her closet, I was determined to make sure the dresser we got would fit and she wouldnt lose space for hanging her clothing. She also needed a better system for storing her blankets and extras so i knew I need to make shelving. #closetorganization #closetmakeover #diyhomeprojects
My friend’s trust me too much! 🫣 My friend wanted a moodier powderroom and I was up for the challenge. So many said dont go dark in a small space like this but I like the challenge! We added panel moulding, a faux cofferes ceiling effect, a new vanity, mirror, and hardware, and of course a fresh coat of paint! What do you think? #roommakeover #diymyspace #powderroommakeover
