Not every pet has to be your *soul pet*. Many consider their once in a lifetime pet as their soul animal or their heart animal. While others may define it differently, it's basically an inherent feeling you may have with a pet. For me, it's like l've known Cappy my whole life. He completes me. He is me. I am him. We are each other. He makes me want to be my best. I make him want to be his best. It's hard to explain, but you can just see it and feel it in his eyes. And it's mutual. I don't really know life without him. The moment his tinkles smell slightly off, I know. The moment he gets extra zesty, I know. Our communication runs deeps. Now hear me out. I LOVE and adore my Hadley Bear. It's no secret how much time and love we share together. It's different though! We work on confidence building, outdoor adventures, feeling loved and included, understanding the world together, snacking on cucumbers. He's the best! He's my favorite doggo and gives the sweetest head nuzzles. I'll do anything for him. He's nuts though 😅 I'm meant to be his owner, I have no doubt about it. The trials and tribulations we've overcome together, so much behind the scenes. Trust me on this, Hadley is here to stay. And our bond strengthens each day. You can see how comfy Hadley feels, I know he can feel the love. And in turn, he is learning to love too. It's just a different feeling that everyone should be blessed with feeling, that love from an animal. Look at the love coming from Hadley, and how much that love has blossomed in the last year. So much bonding, love and trust has been formed in him because of the love we build each day. 🩵
Cappy was diagnosed with a minor case of irritable bowel disease (ibd) in late 2022. In addition to cappy's current probiotics and biome hills wet food and pumpkin care, we are slowly introducing a few new toppers to his meal plan. The toppers aim to help his GI and also are warm. Cappy is always seeking warmth as a way to find balance. I think the hardboiled egg was a success. 🐱
Cappy's self love routine looks like fresh water dips and delicate leggie squeezes. For me, my self love routine looks like matching pajamas and @Neutrogena moments. Something as simple as a sunscreen stick was both healing and reason to leave my house when I was feeling my lowest. I'll never forget the start of my sunscreen affinity. I had this new found sense of joy and purpose. Glad I can still continue on with my Neutrogena moments with Cappy. Would be an honor to join the #2024NeutrogenaNetwork and continue the self love journey. Plus im a unique, rescue pet advocate, with an interest in easily accessible and uncomplicated skincare. I can be the wild card hehe #cats
Daily gratitude list with the homeless dogs of nashville. Chica was found by a good samaritan and brought to the shelter. Chica is a bundle of fun in a teeny tiny body. So much vigor and zest for her little mermaid toy. Confidence at an all time high, she was literally spinning in circles around me 😭 Chica is available to adopt at the nashville humane association. #adopt #rescuedogsoftiktok #zoomies #nashvilledogsforadoption #adoptme
Cappy has big feelings on this time change thing 🐱😭 **Cappy was chasing ghosts around 3am. With the nuances of Hadley, our rescue dog, who easily startles when asleep, Cappy is safest in his cocoon. ✨Creating a safe space for Cappy to rest, mentally recharge, and have time for himself has been so beneficial for managing his stress levels. I'm not sure if it's common to crate your cats, but I started really designating a "space" for Cappy after LeLe passed away. Watching Cappy experience grief last year was painful, so l tried making a special space for him to recharge and take all the time he needed to do whatever he needed. That's when his crate space started. We've since carried on the crate concept because it's turned into Cappy's comfy spot to chill after the vet, after a procedure, during enrichment, during storms, if Hadley needs 1:1 time, for travel, even just to vibe outside safely in the fresh air. There's so many uses for it. And Cappy loves it!! Because he knows it's his space that no one can take from him and he doesn't have to share it. #meow #purring
Caring for a cat with paresis, like my cat cappy, initially had a learning curve. With over 6 years of caring for cappy, we have really streamlined our bedtime routine. Cappy's bedtime routine takes less than 10 minutes now. That is a similar time commitment as a dog when you put it in perspective. #advocate #paresis #disabledcat #youcandoit
Ive seen a more enthusiastic cappy. He was ready for breakfast!! Cappy's morning meal was the following: 1 can hills biome wet food 1/4 cup purified water 1/2 tsp psyllium husk 1/2 hard boiled egg Mix it all together :) #cats #longervideos
Parasite prevention is very important! Ill never forget cappy's care ever since the time Cappy had fleas in 2018 lol. Never forget but lesson learned #cats #dogs #petcare
Cappy's little backside is constantly soaked in tinkles lately. It hasnt always been like this, but the important part is rinsing off the tinkles with water to prevent rash or scalding. #paresis #cats
