You can’t go wrong with roses for Valentine’s Day - my tip is to get them from the market; it's more budget-friendly. Here's how I prep them. Starting with these extra-long stems, we need to remove the leaves first. Using a rubber brush makes it straightforward and keeps your hands safe from those thorns. Once that's done, we'll move on to prepping the roses. First, we remove the guard petals—they're often bruised and flaky, not ideal for gifting. Then, I enhance their appearance, making them fuller. There are two methods: gently stretching the petals back, or flexing them with your thumb and pointer finger. Ensure the roses are at room temperature for easy bending and to prevent petal tearing. Flex two layers of petals, and you'll have a stunning, open rose to add to your bouquet. Now that we've prepped the roses, let's arrange them. An easy technique: cross over two roses, then add each new rose to one side repeatedly for a neat arrangement. To place them in a vase, fill it with cool water and add a bit of sugar or flower feed. Boil some water, place it in a small bowl, and dip the stems for 15 seconds to help them drink water faster. Style the bouquet to your liking, and you're done! A beautiful bunch of roses, perfect for that special someone on Valentine’s Day! Share this with a friend or the man in your life who needs a hint, and stay tuned for more home lifestyle tips!
