I’ve began to see a pattern in my limited experience within the publishing industry. Unless you have written cookie cutter reproduction, a hyper-digestible commercial fiction novel, or have proven that your originality can be sold, you might end up being seen as a poor investment. This is my perspective. It may not be shared by the bulk of authors around me, but at the end if the day, the industry is a business. We are cogs in its machine. You have to remember to view yourself and your work independently from their agendas. Believe in yourself and your stories when no one else will. I do. Because it doesnt matter if we sell millions of copies or a single one. We write to write stories. I write for myself and I write for you. Not for numbers in a spreadsheet or titles on a list. I write for myself and i write for you ❤️. No one is changing that.
