A lot of these things aren’t ideal, but they ARE normal. The amount of times I hear/get told that my baby is not behaving “normally” (usually a comparison to other babies) is wildddd! Of course I’d be over the moon if she slept 12 hours a night like so and so’s baby or she was happy to play on her own like so and so’s baby. But she’s still behaving normally. She’s behaving like a baby. It’s incredible how as a society, we accept that not all adults are the same. Yet we expect babies to behave the same way. Imagine telling an adult they’re abnormal because they have a different routine to you. I am exhausted. I am running on zero. I am overwhelmed. I’m constantly thinking it is my fault that Asees is a “poor” sleeper. My brain never switches off. “Is it teething?” “Is it because she’s not eating” “Is she overtired? Or undertired?” So it’s even more disheartening to be told that my baby is… not a good baby. To the no sleep mamas, I feel you. Our babies aren’t naughty or bad, they’re just BABIES 🤍 #6monthold #firsttimemum #nosleepgang #ebfbaby #breastfedbaby
Of course all of these items are recommendations based on my own experience as a first time mum. Having these items has made day to day life easier for me. Which is what any new mum needs, especially during those first few weeks/months. As a FTM, I really was not prepared for newborn life, I don’t think anyone really is. Post partum knocked me backwards, adjusting to motherhood was HARD and having these products in my toolkit just helped ease some challenges. Of course do your research and browse to find budget friendly options. You can also save things in your basket and buy as you go. A top tip is to hold off on some products until you think you need them as it’ll help spread the cost and also prevent unnecessary buying. I would place Amazon orders after Asees was born, of all the things I realised I needed as and when I needed them. If you’re a mum, what are some of your go to products?
