This is an example of an elevator that was not thoughtfully designed to be inclusive of all users. Not only did it not talk to alert me as to what floor I was on or what direction the elevator was going, but it also had a touch screen with no screenreader options. There were a few tactile buttons but they were only to do basic functions like open/close the door, call for emergency services, and so on. There was a small keypad similar to a phone keypad, but it had no braille or tactile markings. #Inaccessible #UniversalDesign #Elevator

As women we’re taught to hate ourselves and to pick ourselves apart. Don't get me wrong, I still do that sometimes but I’ve worked very hard on positive self talk and learning to love the things I once hated, or at least be neutral about them. I always try to look on the bright side, find the positive, and live with gratitude because it makes life so much better. I firmly believe that when the universe took my sight it had to balance things out and give back in some way… so here’s all the things I’ve learned to appreciate about myself!

So many of us deal with hormone imbalances and it can be a difficult thing to navigate. I’ve been struggling with it since I was about 14, and ovarian cysts since 15. A few years ago I became determined to figure out a treatment and it was the best thing I did for myself. However, I recently was diagnosed with PMDD and began treatment for that as well, which has also been life changing. Honestly, camels might be my new favorite animal!! I got to meet and even RIDE some camels in the desert in Abu Dhabi and they were so fun, happy, and playful!! It was amazing and 100% the highlight of my trip!
