We are past the point of proving that you’re “good enough.” The creative team—professionals who are literally paid to decide if someone can successfully play the part—has already decided that you can. So now, the callback isn’t about proving yourself. It’s about showing them how you fit into their vision of the show. So why do we waste so much energy worrying about being “the best” in the room? Imposter syndrome will try to convince you that you’re somehow less than the other people called back. That you have to out-sing them, out-dance them, out-perform them. But that’s not your job. Your job is to prepare the material, present it well, and focus on what you can control: 🎭 Being present in the moment 🎭 Connecting with your scene partners 🎭 Understanding the relationships in the scene 🎭 Serving the other actors in the room At the end of the day, you all deserve to be there.
