you would think the grocery store would be a safe place to train and shop with my service dog in training, but nope think again. 7 service dogs in training aging from 3 months old to 2 years old where all over the grocery store tonight. out of the 7… 5 of them where awfuly behaved. Lunging, barking, trying to get to cider. No matter where we went inside the store, there was another dog around the corner and we couldn’t seem to get away from them. im assuming this was a service dog organization of some kind, i have a feeling i know what one it was, but im not going to mention names. these puppys and dogs are clearly not ready to be in a grocery store or maybe even any store for that matter yet. I really wish people would stop bringing untrained animals into places like this. It just makes it not safe for others. Im thankful the manager removed every dog from the group, she was on top of it as soon as she saw what was going on, and for that im thankful! Please if your dog or service dog in training is not ready for this type of environment Do not being them in. Im so proud of how well cider did given the situation. Yes he stopped and looked at the other dogs but recovered so well from it. I feel like this is not shared on social media enough, when it coems to training a dog, they 100% most certainly do have off days. I chose to listen to cider and ended up cutting our training session very short this day and thats okay. Cider coming to the doctors with me for the very first time! He did absolutely amazing we where there much longer then I anticipated because i ended up needing bloodwork.
