how we made instagram out of polaroids 🕰 anyone else feel nostalgic for the early days of instagram? I was in the park when I took some polaroids that reminded me of the very first versions of instagram. Remember that IG? The one where we all heavily filtered photos of our breakfasts with X-Pro and Nashville and Valencia to make them look like polaroids. So that gave me the idea to try making an analog Instagram - made out of actual polaroids director / editor @karenxcheng producer @noellexms art assistant @katalinadrojas golden gate bridge polaroid @bejm.film confetti concept @colette.peri sound design @likuidaudio An extra shoutout to my producer @noellexms. She's wonderful and she's moving to Denver - so if you are based there and in need of an assistant or producer, give her a shout!
#ad What if your car could change its color? @BMW This car is the i5 Flow Nostokana, created by BMW engineer Stella Clarke and her team, a tribute to the art of Esther Mahlangu The color-changing tech is made out of E Ink (yes, the stuff in your kindle!) A bit more context on why I’ve gotten so obsessed with E Ink lately… I’ve been feeling tired of looking at bright screens all day, and started experimenting with E Ink screens. For the past few months, I’ve been using an E Ink phone and computer monitor for part of the day, and it’s been so refreshing. It lets me use tech in a less stimulating and dopamine-addicting way - a way that feels healthier and more sustainable. But E Ink technology is still not that widely understood or adopted… So when BMW let me check out the E Ink car, I was so excited to see it with my own eyes. Massive respect to BMW engineer Stella Clarke and her team for pushing E Ink technology forward in such an innovative way.
