Today is the first @mindenstjude race since 2017 that my dad won’t be running by. 😭 This reel is from last year. The race runs directly in front on my cottage and he ALWAYS ran up on the steps for kiss, which always cost him time and caused him to lose. 🤦🏻‍♀️😭 Our @mindenstjude race is this morning. And as I sit in the quiet with coffee watching runners go by front window, I’m SO sad. Yet, I’m so honored to have known one of the greatest men whoever lived. Phillip Carroll loved well and deep and constantly celebrated life bigger and wider than anyone I ever knew. He was a high school teacher and guidance counselor for 40 years and served as a pastor or youth pastor his whole life AND was a Vietnam vet. He ran his race well. I can’t imagine living without the Hope of Heaven in my heart and knowing I will one day reunite with him.
