How to get to the most fairytale village in the world. INFO HERE: ✈️ Take a flight to Salzburg airport. Wizz are currently doing £8.99 flights from london luton each way with WDC, £17.99 without. Can find them in their app for the next few months. Flight takes 1hr50. Salzburg train station is a 22min direct bus from the airport, though we actually walked everywhere during our trip! 🚂 You can get tickets to Hallstatt at Salzburg train station in the ticket office. There are two ways to go: The most scenic is the 150 bus to Bad Ischl, then the train from there to Hallstatt, before getting on the 10min / €7 ferry across. The quickest is by bus all the way to the town itself (skipping the ferry). We did this on the way back and just followed the buses Google maps told us to get on 🏰 Hallstatt is super tiny, if you just want to see it you only need a few hours - go earlier in the day to beat the crowds. 🏨 If you do want to stay overnight though, there’s plenty of cute hotels & B&Bs, and you’ll have more fine to go do the nearby salt caves and Hallstatt Sky Walk #salzburg #hallstatt #austria #europetravel #budgettravel

Siren by the sea ✨🧜‍♀️🏰 I’ve wanted to visit this medieval island castle along Lake Geneva for so long! It’s apparently one of the best-preserved medieval European castles and one of Switzerland’s most visited historic monuments. Some notes on visiting Château de Chillon ⬇️ 🚙 Parking is super easy and right in front of the castle - it’s also free but you just need to pick up a little permit at the ticket office 🎟️ Tickets are 15 CHF 🚌 There are also buses you can get from Montreux - it’s less than a 10 minute drive 🇨🇭 It’s located an hour outside of Geneva 🌊 And you can actually explore a lot without going in! I’m visiting every country in Europe! This is the first country I visited and country #1 of this series: ICELAND 🇮🇸 I visited Iceland twice, and the first time I visited was June 2021 and to this day is one of my all time favorite trips, and my favorite country. I road tripped the south coast with friends and had such an amazing time under the midnight sun in some of the most stunning scenery. We had so much fun that we stayed up for 36 hours at a time just to make sure we could experience everything. Staying up during the night hours was the best decision we could have made, because this allowed us to have the popular locations to ourselves with no crowds. The second time I visited Iceland was in January 2023, and this is where I got to see the Northern Lights for the first time.
