A full day of what I ate today as a former binge eater who’s now trying to lose weight (but without dieting or any food restrictions) I forgot to add that I drank an iced latte with 1 pump of vanilla syrup. That was my sweet treat today. As much as I love my trampoline I’m going to return it and get a walking pad instead. It’s gonna be much realistic for me to walk for 30 mins than jump for 30 mins 😭 and I don’t have the space for both. And that is some kind of shit storm rooted in SHAME. That’s the issue. Shame. You can’t start this journey with the mentality that it’s not going to work. Or that you’re not good enough today. In the body that you’re currently in. You can’t start this journey because you hate yourself, you have to start this journey because you love yourself. sure self-hate could be a great motivator, but motivation is fleeting. And not reliable. What is going to get you results as discipline. And what is going to help you implement discipline into your life is having a strong WHY. I still get this one a lot. Let’s break the old school conventions of ‘dieting’. A diet is extreme, temporary, and unsustainable. A lifestyle is balanced and something you can do every day. That’s why I make food the way I think it should be made; effective, sustainable AND enjoyable. By incorporating a high protein, calorie controlled approach with flavourful, whole foods, we can’t lose! Here are just a few of the many things that have helped me along my journey. 👇🏼 - 1. Home cooked meals. Knowing what I put into my body and how much of it changed my mental and physical health drastically. Meal prep if you’re busy. You can also use my recipes as a guideline to help get you started. Now I can enjoy eating out from time to time because I know my body has built such a strong foundation with the lifestyle that I now have. My relationship with food is a healthy one. - 2. Focusing on my protein early in the day. Most conventional ‘breakfasts’ will struggle to even reach 15-20g of protein per serving. If you start early, not only are you going to feel more satiated and satisfied throughout the day, but you will also not be scrambling before bed to fill the void in your stomach. I typically try to hit 30-40g per meal, sometimes even more depending on how many meals I have in a day. You will notice that trend in all of the meals I share. - 3. Not food related, but purposeful movement is SO key. Not just getting up from your chair to grab a drink or use the bathroom. I mean proactively walking for 10 minutes when you can make time for it. Of course, aiming for a certain amount of steps per day is great (7-12k would be ideal)… but just begin to go for more walks throughout the day and don’t worry about tracking things. Over time, you’ll accumulate more movement than you’ve ever done. After my second pregnancy, I hit a point with a weight of 99 kg where I wanted to make a change. After the first pregnancy, I hadn’t managed to lose weight, and people even asked me if I was pregnant again. But instead of letting it drive me crazy, I focused on what has always worked for me! I committed to my home fitness program, followed my simple eating plan, and made sure to prioritize my supplements and keep everything as straightforward as possible! Slowly but surely, in 6 months, I had already lost 30 kg, and after a year, the weight was gone, and I looked better than before my two pregnancies. And I feel amazing again! You got this, keep going! 💪🏽🤍 Nach meiner zweiten Schwangerschaft habe ich mich mit 99 kg an einen Punkt gebracht, an dem ich etwas ändern wollte. Nach der ersten Schwangerschaft hatte ich es nicht geschafft abzunehmen, und Leute fragten mich sogar, ob ich wieder schwanger sei. Doch anstatt mich davon verrückt machen zu lassen, habe ich meinen Fokus darauf gerichtet, was sich für mich bewährt hat! Ich habe mich meinem Heim-Fitnessprogramm verpflichtet, meinen einfachen Ernährungsplan umgesetzt und darauf geachtet, meine Nahrungsergänzungsmittel zu priorisieren und alles so einfach wie möglich zu gestalten! Everything I ate today: Reminder: I’m not elminating or restricting myself from any specific food or food groups right now. I have a history of b*nge eating. I havent done much exercise (other than walking my dog) but I did get a walking pad so i can do some cozy cardio while I watch tv. Breakfast was a vanilla latte, I had a super busy morning and by lunch time i was STARVING. I had a huge craving for pizza so thats what I got! For dinner was Korean food. Im at my parent’s for the next 6 months so whenever you see me eat Korean food, its made by them! Baby, these 3 tips will help you reach your goals. Weight loss is difficult, but it’s not complicated. And this is how I did it. This is how I sustained it. This is how I healed my relationship with my body and nutrition. understanding how movement affects your journey, is only going to empower you. With that being said, if you’re on a fat loss journey, the last thing you wanna do is a ton of cardio, because not only is that going to increase your appetite, which will likely take you out of a deficit, but it’s also going to break down your existing muscle. AND MUSCLE BURNS FAT. The way I wish I understood this at the beginning of my weight-loss journey… naturally the more muscle you have on your body, the lower your body, fat percentage will be PERIOD. Muscle is also the most metabolically active tissue in your body (which is a fancy way of saying that muscle needs a lot of calories to be sustained, so it stimulates your metabolism to function faster) so now are you not only burning body fat faster, but you are sustaining fat loss in the long run. ‼️No more using genetics as an excuse for a slow metabolism… ‼️ WHICH MEANS, weight training is the most efficient form of exercise that you should be performing, if you’re on a fat loss journey when it comes down to the science. But now I’ll eat my words, and say, if you cannot be consistent with weight training, at this point in your life, be consistent with whatever form of movement, makes you feel empowered, and strong.💪🏽 And if this is already overwhelming, or you can just tell you need more support, this is why I became a coach.
