To be completely honest, I think Taipei is an ugly city 😬🌆 In general, the majority of buildings in all of Taiwan aren’t that pretty to me. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of beautiful spots across all of the cities on this island, but even a lot of locals themselves say Taiwanese cities are ugly 😅 Despite that, Taiwan still has its charm and I have many more reasons to love this place than I do to not. I just wish they would give the buildings a little powerwash and take the cages off the windows 😭 What do you think? Three things about Taiwan that just make sense! 🇹🇼🙌🏽 Honestly, there are a lot of things about Taiwan that make it pretty difficult for me to leave 😅 I’m seriously wondering how I’d adjust back in the States after living here for so long! But here are a few things that stick out: 🍿 Outside food and drinks in movie theaters are allowed! For Americans, that’s unheard of! We’re so used to hiding our food, but in Taiwan, you can walk in with whatever food and drinks with no problem! (as long as the smell isn’t too strong) 🏪 Convenient stores are actually convenient! 7 Elevens in the States are kinda sketch, kinda scary. But the ones here in Taiwan are unmatched. Lots of good food AND good services offered. 🧾 Taiwan makes shopping even more exciting, as every receipt you collect is automatically a lottery ticket! I’ve won up to 3000 NTD in the lottery before, so keep your receipts if you want a chance at winning!
